Wart Virus (Under a Microscope)

My dad ordered a microscope a few weeks ago and it finally came in the mail.  So, Mom and I spent most of the afternoon experimenting with it.  A friend of ours donated a wart virus seed to us (I'm not going to name anyone).  It was probably one of the grossest things I have ever seen... I guess it was only really gross to know that these suckers burrow themselves into your skin.

The creepiest thing about it though was that it kept changing form.  One minute it would be in kind of a paint splatter form and the next a creepy oval shape.

Well, Science is full of interesting and disgusting stuff.  I guess that this is one of the many reasons you should have good hygiene.

Question of the day:
What is the coolest thing you have ever seen under a microscope?

Mine:
This is my first time ever actually looking into a microscope so yeah.

Fabric Headbands

Hello peoples of the world!  This is your favorite (ok maybe close second) blogger Alli here with my buddy Sarah helping me out today.

Now Sarah, how did you come up with the idea to make super cute headbands?

...Behind the scenes...

(Sarah: Come on Alli, please can I type?
Alli: No, I want to type!
Sarah: Please????
Alli: Nope. Coming Mom!!!)

Pst.. This is Sarah.  Alli told me that I couldn't type. But her mom called her downstairs, so I have approximately 1 minute 30 seconds to talk to you. So, I am 14, and I go to Timpview. I take acting, and I am in Throughly Modern Millie with Alli at the Scera. It is on May 12 at 2:00 p.m. so come! I love Alli's blog sooo much! I read it everyday and then I ponder and wonder about all the cool stuff she does:). Ohh Shoot! She's coming! Sorry I didn't get more time but my blog is scarahcarr.blogspot.com so check it out!

Alli: SARAH!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT DID I TELL YOU??????

Sarah: *Ahh ouf boom cachow ouch ugh*

Alli: FOR NARNIA!!! *Punch*

Sarah: I'm... dying... Tell my mom I love her.... jkfgdjtk.erdhzuiehrtuiershtidruh

So sorry about that. This is Alli again. Sarah is in time out on the stairs... Bad Sarah!!!

Anyways, To make these beautiful easy headbands, you only need a couple of things.

Fabric Headbands:

First, you'll need fabric

Sarah: No duh!

Alli: QUIET SARAH!... Anywho, the second thing you'll need is ribbon that matches the fabric.
Third, you'll need needle and thread (or a sewing machine).

Steps:

1.  Cut out three strips of fabric, it doesn't matter about how wide it is.

2.  Sew the three pieces together at the top and braid them until you reach desired length.

3.  Sew the end of the fabric onto the end of the ribbon (repeat on other side).

4. Enjoy!!!

Question of the day:
Have you ever put one of your best friends in time-out?

Mine:
Yep.  Sarah... I'm so nice.

Modeling My New Clothes

On Wednesday at Young Womens we had a closet exchange.  it was super duper fun!!!

I felt like a barbie doll when I was modeling for my friends... And you guys.

Normally I don't like trying on clothes and taking pictures but today was weird and I wanted to do it.

Oh well, I had fun, that is like the only fun thing that matters right now... I've changed for a day.

Audrey was my little modeling buddy.  she had about as much fun as I did.

My little buddy always made sure that I had a flower...  And yet I somehow managed to convince her to let me pick my own props (AKA: nothing) every now and then.

I even got to read a dictionary...

Ok... the dictionary part wasn't that fun but still (plus I didn't read it) I liked posing like the crazy dork I am.

Question of the day:
Has there ever been a time when you decided to do something you normally wouldn't do?

Mine:
Yep, I modeled for like two hours... and I actually enjoyed it... that's new.

Easter Candy Egg Making

What time is it?    Easter candy making time!!!

I'm super happy today because I got to dip candy eggs.

Yum!  Yum!  Yum!

My mom grew up making these every year when she was a kid.  Everyone in her family loves them, so it's kind of a family tradition to make them every year (or most years).

There are a variety of flavors you can make from one basic recipe.

Vanilla Creme

Chocolate

Peanut Butter Krispy

We made some egg-shaped ones but decided that circles were easier... and less disturbing looking...

They are basically like chocolate coated frosting...

HAHA!
I just realized that we made cake balls for Christmas and now we're making "frosting" balls for Easter!

Dang!  I'm making my mouth water.

Easter Bunny, eat your heart out!

The Easter Bunny is going to have a tummy-ache tonight!!!

Ok, ok I guess I'll get to the important stuff:

Butter Creme Eggs
Yields about 6 dozen

1 stick butter, softened
1 8-oz cream cheese, softened (low fat works great too)
2 lbs powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla

Cream together butter and cream cheese.  Stir in vanilla.  Add in powdered sugar and beat until well combined.  Refrigerate until firm; dip in melted chocolate and allow to cool on waxed paper.

Variations:
1.  Coconut Creme:  Add 2 cups coconut
2.  Peanut Butter Creme: Add 2 cups peanut butter
3.  Chocolate Creme: Add 1/2 cup cocoa powder

If you don't want a gazillion eggs, you can make 1 batch of the basic recipe, then divide it into equal portions and add the ingredients to each portion for the variations.

Peanut Butter Krispy Eggs
Yields about 5-6 dozen

1/2 cup butter
16-18 oz smooth peanut butter
1 lb powdered sugar
4 cups Rice Krispies Ceral

Melt butter and peanut butter together.  Add powdered sugar and mix well.  Add Rice Krispies ceral with hands.  Mixture will be dry, so really smash it all together.  Shape into eggs and dip in melted chocolate.  Allow to cool on waxed paper.

Cream together butter and cream cheese.  Stir in vanilla.  Add in powdered sugar and beat until well combined.

Question of the day:
What is your favorite Easter dinner dish?

Mine:
I have no clue.  They're almost all good.

Anyone have any 'non sprayed' dandelions that I can come pick?
